Volunteer: BCHD “Streets For All” program
I had the pleasure of volunteering at the Beach Cities Health District for their “Streets For All” program. This important program promotes safe street usage for all, including pedestrians, bicyclists and cars. Many volunteers (see the picture!) joined the BCHD staff in visiting neighbors and residents on Prospect Avenue to provide safety information and also put Lawn Signs up and down the entire length of Prospect, from PCH to well into Hermosa. It was a great morning and the signs and information were well received by local residents!

Thank you BCHD for a fun morning (and the coffee hit the spot too!)

Event: Redondo Beach Open House & Safety Fair
What a great event! It’s great to see our City and its Fire Department and Police Departments celebrating our wonderful city and the services they provide. Also, there were K9 demonstrations, safety forums and many booths including the CERT, the Beach Cities Health District and the Citizen’s Police Academy.
It was a great day and I was very thankful to see so many residents and children learning about the hard work that our Fire and Police Departments do for us every day.
Have you noticed that all the Police Officers have Pink Patches on their uniforms?
It’s called the #PinkPatchProject and all officers are wearing Pink Patches for the month of October to raise awareness for Breast Cancer! Show your support and purchase a shirt – and wear your Pink Patch with pride!
Thank you to the Fire Department and the Police Department for keeping us safe!
