Opening Has Begun – Let’s Take In Slow
Hello Neighbors!
I hope this email finds you well. I know we are all looking to open up and get back to “Normal” – Good News, we are starting the process.
Quick Note: Please remember that the “Safer At Home” order is still in place. It’s our best tool for combating the spread of this virus. Continue to socially distance, wear a mask when visiting a store and carry one with you wherever you go. These requests have not changed, keep up your efforts.
Please be patient and stay home as much as possible. It’s working!
OK, last newsletter I asked the following question:
How Do We Open Up the Beach Cities, Safely, Only Once?
We have moved into “Stage 2” in the State’s and the County’s “Roadmap to Recovery.” As you can see below, the stages and levels ensure we are opening up “Together – Slowly.”
Stage 2 began last Friday, May 8th, and tomorrow, May 13th, LA County is opening the Beaches to limited activity. Yay!
Lastly, back on May 7th, in anticipation of Stage 2, Redondo Beach loosened some closures and restrictions in accordance with the State and LA County’s actions and orders.
So, in today’s Around Redondo newsletter, I’m sharing with you:
Redondo Beach’s UPDATE #9 – May 7th, 2020
LA County Public Health’s Latest Case Counts – May 11th, 2020
LA County Public Health’s “Roadmap to Recovery” – May 8th, 2020
LA County Public Health’s “Beach Opening” poster – May 13th, 2020
Remember: We are just beginning the process and if we are not cautious, we may have to go back towards more isolation.
There is no “light switch” to flip, and if we don’t open up properly, we’ll have to do this again. I don’t want to do this again, and I know you don’t either.
My Request: Please read through and think about how we do this “Together.”
Stay safe, and I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
John F. Gran

Redondo's Update # 9 - May 7th, 2020
LA County Public Health - New Release - 05/11/2020
Click here for the full News Release. The CoLAPH provides demographics and confirmed counts for all cities in LA County and shares a comprehensive overview of the situation. For Around Redondo, I’m just providing counts for the South Bay Cities. * These numbers are subject to change based on further investigation. Seventy-six previously reported cases were not in Public Health’s jurisdiction. *** Rate is crude and is per 100,000. This represents the number of cases per 100,000 people and allows for the proportional comparison of cities of different sizes. |
